Australia's snowgums are a unique feature of our alpine environment.  These were some very exposed stands between Blue Cow and Guthega in Perisher, New South Wales.

I chose to use black and white to accentuate the harsh and extreme conditions on this day, but I have included a couple of the original images to illustrate the delicate colours of the bark that can be found on some of the trees.
